About Mae-Mae Han
Hi! I'm Mae-Mae Han, the author behind Our Journey in Journals. I'm currently in high school, and I was born and raised - and still live - in central Indiana. Other than stationery (obviously), I also love figure skating and music - both appreciating and creating it. In addition to singing, I play multiple instruments and enjoy songwriting, music production, etc.
Journal-wise, my addiction started about two years ago. However, my experience with journals and such started in the fall of 2011 when I received my first pocket Moleskine as a gift from my dad, which I have since then lost. I got another one from him a couple of months after which I finally finished about four years later! However, the real reason that I'm such a huge fan of stationery is actually a great story that occurred in the late summer of 2014:
My cousin's phone screen had been completely shattered, so we went to the Apple store to get it fixed. While we were waiting, we browsed the rest of the mall and went to Paper Source. There, I got a pack of metallic Sakura Gelly Rolls (which I absolutely adore), and she got a pack of Stabilo Point 88 Fineliners. I checked out Sakura's YouTube channel, whose great videos about crafting and artsy things got me hooked on artist trading cards. One thing led to another - from one hole on the internet to the next - and I eventually discovered calligraphy and bullet journals! Though I had known about hand-lettering and brush calligraphy since I started watching Sakura's videos, I didn't really get into it until the March of 2016, which is also when I started setting up my very first bullet journal. I now have an unreasonably large collection of pens and blank notebooks.
I originally created this blog with the aforementioned cousin, but she ended up not wanting to be a co-author. So, this blog was completely created by me and is currently 100% run by yours truly. I mostly write about bullet journaling and calligraphy, but I also post about stationery and studyblr. I try to post every Thursday, though sometimes that turns into a day that is not Thursday. Feel free to contact me about any commissions, guest posts, or any other sort of business partnerships, and I hope you enjoy your stay here!
